Thailand is predominantly a Buddhist country with around 95% of Thai's practicing the Theravada discipline of Buddhism. This half-day tour gives you an opportunity to visit three of the most significant temples in Bangkok renowned for their cultural values and Buddhist sacredness. The first is the Wat Trimit, known as the temple of the Golden Buddha, which protects the 3 meter tall Buddha statue crafted from 5.5 tons of solid gold, a fine example of Sukhothai style art.

As you pass through Chinatown you will see the second and oldest temple called Wat Pho, also known as the temple of the reclining Buddha, which is also home to the authentic therapeutic Thai massage and the Chedis of the Kings. At 46 meters in length and 15 meters high, the Buddha is the largest in Bangkok and illustrates the passing of the Buddha into nirvana. The third and final temple is the Wat Benchamabophit, also known as the Marble Temple. This monastery was built out of white Italian marble from Carrara in the 19th century and houses one of the country's most beautiful Buddha images.

To round off the tour, you will go to the local lapidary factory and showroom where you will be able to get locally made jewelry, handicrafts and silk at competitive prices before being driven back to your hotel in Bangkok.
