Chengdu Exclusive Day Tour to Panda Base Baoguang Monastery and Mahjong Lesson

After breakfast, meet your professional guide in the hotel lobby and your private car, clean and air conditioned, will pick you up and head to Panda Base (40 mins drive). Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding and Research Center is the largest and most influential Panda Theme Park in the world. Led by your informative guide, enjoy full knowledge of the endangered species and knowing the effort done by the center so far. Walk to different enclosures to visit pandas in different ages including adults, teenagers and babies. More over you are able to see black swans, peacocks and red pandas as well. Then you will go to a small theater to watch a panda movie in English language to deeper understand them. After that you can explore the panda scientific museum before leaving. After lunch the private car takes you to an ancient Baoguang Monastery (20 mins drive) to experience the authentic Chinese Buddhism culture. The monastery initiated in Eastern Han Dynasty 1800 years ago. You will see monks practicing Buddhist doctrine in the Buddha Hall and listen to our guide giving detailed narration on Buddhism. Then you come to a particular Arhat Hall in which keeps 577 Buddha & Arhat Statues. In China every Chinese person is blessed and protected by one of the 577 Arhats and you have chance to find your own Arhat by looking into your birthday information, stepping in certain numbers and strict directions in the labyrinthine Arhat Hall. Unique incense burning experience is included and you may wish all the best to you and your family in front of the Buddha. (Duration in monastery is 1.5hrs)

Then enroute to the People’s Park to mingle with local people (40 mins drive). Led by your guide to the oldest teahouse and have a cup of tea (included). While you are enjoying the tea, your guide will bring a set of Mahjong and start the highlighted Mahjong lesson. Mahjong is the most popular gambling game in China invented in Qing Dynasty. After you have managed the rule, maybe you can even play with a little money to make it more interesting. After the lesson, guide will take you around the park to see the people line dancing and there is a match make up corner where the parents are arranging blind dates for their children. (2.5hrs)
