Frequent travellers would agree that a true-blue experience of the local culture comes from the food. It won't be any different here as you walk through the bazaars, lanes and by-lanes of Jaipur. Your walking tour begins at 4:30pm at Badi Chaupar near Hawa Mahal. You walk through the famous bazaars, which sport the sweet ‘n’ snack shops.

Guided by an expert well-versed in the local culture, you get to visit some famous food joints in the area to indulge in the culinary delights found here – the ghee-soaked sweets, or the spicy samosas that is a trademark pocket dish of India. Indulge in delicious savouries like the kachori or mouth-watering sweets like jalebis. You cannot miss the Kulfi or the Lassi (sweetened buttermilk), the Mal pua and Rabri, which would add that dash of sweetness to help you go easy on the hot ‘n’ spicy.

Ever since its inception in the 18th century, Jaipur has been a great patron of arts and crafts. Once you step into the bustling craft bazaar, you will come upon various shops that specialize in different forms of art. Watch the craftsman, the silversmith, or the bangle makers at work - from the raw material to the finishing touch – from the rustic to the stylish, you will see nimble fingers, taking you through this transformation.

Even now, traditional methods are employed in handicrafts which are then sold as high-valued masterpieces. Seeing each of the 'keystones' of jewellery being threaded together to deliver a fine fashion accessory or a valuable jewel set will leave you in awe.

Following the lanes and the bazaar, you will also visit a 150-year-old residence where you will be treated to a refreshing drink, in their artistically designed drawing room. The city of Jaipur still thrives in its havelis, and you will be visiting one of them during this tour. A deserted historic Haveli, decorated with frescoes, will welcome you to narrate the story of its glorious past.

For refreshing fragrance and vibrant colours, you will walk through the local markets that sell flowers, perfumes, traditional dresses, while passing by turban-makers as well. The tour ends at Badi Chaupar.
