Monteverde One Day Tour

Around 7:30 a.m. we start picking up everybody from the hotels in La Fortuna for a 30 minute microbus drive to the Arenal Lake Dam. There we will board a very comfortable and safe pontoon boat for a 30 to 40 minute (approx.) ride to Río Chiquito, a little town at the other side of the lake. Arenal Lake is the largest and the most important lake in Costa Rica. It is a place where you can find different kinds of resident and migratory birds. Sometimes mammals can be seen in the surroundings, as well as great views of Arenal Volcano when it’s clear. Once at Río Chiquito, we’ll leave the boat and make a short break to stretch our legs, then, another 90 minute microbus ride to get to Monteverde. Once there, we’ll go for an exceptional hike. Get to know different kinds of birds, rich beds of moss, flowers, lichen & bromeliads. A visit to the frog pound or the serpentarium will let us see some of the wildlife we can find in the area and complete our journey to this world famous Cloud Forest. After the hike we will have lunch and after that we will start the trip back to the hotels at La Fortuna.
