Stop At: Liberty Square, Tbilisi, Georgia

Your Tbilisi adventure begins at Freedom Square. We will do an introduction to the tour and the structure of the city. History of one of the main squares in Tbilisi.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Betlemi Street Stairs, Tbilisi Georgia

After just a few steps, you’ll be immersed in the historical district of Sololaki, favoured by the great and the good of Tbilisi for centuries. As we admire the decadent former glories of this intriguing city, you’ll be tempted by the smell of freshly-baked bread from the underground bakeries that are located nearby, and you’ll see locals happily set up impromptu sidewalk markets in order to sell their seasonal produce.
Up the steps to the clifftop is next where you should be prepared for some breathtaking views of Tbilisi.

Stop At: Betlemi park, 14 Betkemi Rise, T'bilisi, Georgia

From the observation deck of the Betlemi Quarter, you’ll be able to see most of the city’s main landmarks. Here we will reward ourselves with a delicious khachapuri, which literary means cheese with bread, and a glass of local wine (or mineral water from the neighbouring mountain springs).

Stop At: Paradnaya Kaleidoscope, Betlemskaya, 3, Tbilisi Georgia

Our next stop will have you carried away with colours as we visit the magnificent ‘kaleidoscope house’ to admire its stained glass decorations. One of the famous and photo-worthy mansions of the Old Tbilisi, yet not easy to find on your own. Introduction to Italian courtyards, a local urban phenomenon.

Back to modernity, we’ll mooch our way down the always busy Leselidze Street, which leads to Meidan Square. A former part of the caravan route and the sight of the Middle Bazaar. Represents the multicultural spirit of Tbilisi – there are Georgian and Armenian cathedrals here, as well as a synagogue and a mosque really close.

Stop At: Meidan Bazaar, Gorgasali Square, Tbilisi 0105 Georgia

The former site of the main Armenian bazaar in the city. Currently one of the liveliest squares of Tbilisi, with a view of the opposite bank and the statue of the founder of the city

Stop At: Abanotubani, Abano St, Tbilisi Georgia

Warm water springs gave the name to the city and represent the legend of how the city was founded. A sulphur bath visit is still one of the strong local traditions.

Stop At: Legvachtahvi Gorge, Tbilisi Georgia

Unusually for a city tour, our next stop will be at a spectacular waterfall, hidden behind the baths in the gorge. The local’s favourite place to come and cool off on a hot summer day and make a wish.

Stop At: Metekhi bridge, Metekhi Bridge, T'bilisi, Georgia

As we cross the Metekhi Bridge. One of the oldest bridges in the city. We’ll stop to admire the church on the rocks above the river. This is where Vakhtang Gorgasali built his palace when he made Tbilisi his capital all the way back in the 5th Century.

Stop At: Rike Park, The left bank of the Mtkvari River, Tbilisi Georgia

Finally, we will walk along the winding path through Rike Park on the eastern riverbank and stroll across the Mktvari River on the glass-and-steel Peace Bridge.

Stop At: The Bridge of Peace, Tbilisi Georgia

Construction of this bridge changed the image of the city. A 156 m long structure was designed by an Italian architect Michele De Lucchi together with a light engineer from France Philippe Martinaud. About 30 000 LEDs turn on every night and every hour they make a message in Morse code with a list of the chemical elements from Mendeleev’s table, that are present in a human’s body.

Stop At: Rezo Gabriadze Marionette Theater, Shavteli St., 26, Tbilisi 0105 Georgia

Your tour will end near the clock tower which was built by the puppet master Rezo Gabriadze outside his popular theatre. A unique marionette theatre was opened in 1981 by the man of many talents and a unique sense of creativity. One of the famous Russian writers Andrei Bitov said that the world of Gabriadze is so so truly and authentically Georgian, that you fail to imagine that there could have been a man to create it.
