Über diese Aktivität
The Georgian National Gallery located on the Rustaveli Avenue was established in 1920. Since its foundation, the gallery has served the development of Georgian fine arts.

The building was intended to house the collection of the Russian Military History Museum, the "Temple of Glory". During the First World War, the museum exhibits were evacuated and never returned to Tbilisi after that in 1920, the National Gallery of Georgia was opened here.

In 2007 was once again renovated. New, modern exhibition space was added to the gallery, encompassing eight exhibition halls, a restoration laboratory, temporary exhibit reserves, training space, and a gift shop. Visitors of the National Gallery can enjoy fascinating collections of Georgian paintings and sculpture; among them is the largest collection of Niko Pirosmani’ works.
